Bio:
Tyler G. Ormsby (b. 1994, Vallejo, CA) is a painter sequestered from the imposition of style, form, and expectation. The artist lets a personified cast of characters dictate his palate; organic mounds inform his use of color, time spent in the ocean, and the seconds collected with his family at home all weave the tapestry of his influence. He reimagines these encounters through a lens of abstraction, hovering between a symbolic and gestural state. The works are both inventive in the methodology and construction and employ immense honesty.
Tyler Ormsby has been the subject of solo and two-person exhibitions at Gern en Regalia, New York (2025), New Remedios, Manila (2024), and House of Seiko, San Francisco (2023). Selected group exhibitions include Ruttowski 68, New York (2024), Et, al, San Francisco (2024) and Ratio 3, San Francisco (2022).
